Our Teams' Passion
"Why are you a leader in Palette of Positivity?"
President and Founder
Kara Fan
I am Kara Fan, the founder and president of Palette of Positivity, an art organization rooted in my passion for fostering connections through creativity. Art, for me, is a language that transcends age and background, connecting individuals in a shared experience of creativity and discovery. My commitment to community led me to take a stand against discrimination during the pandemic, resulting in the creation of a powerful "Stop Asian Hate" mural. After the creation of my social justice painting, I decided to continue to use art as a tool for advocacy. Not only does Palette of Positivity uplift vulnerable members of the community, but it also serves as a dynamic force for change and connection. My organization allows space for individual connection and the chance to bond over a burning passion. As I continue this journey, my goal with Palette of Positivity remains unwavering—to empower connections through art, fostering positive change one canvas at a time.
Megan Campbell
To me, art is a form of self-expression that can be discovered all around us. It is a universal language that can evoke emotion, promote healing and bring people together to form a caring community. I attended art classes in elementary school for 4 years and during that time I've learned how to use acrylics, oil paint, water paint, and how to use different mediums on glass. Now, I enjoy knitting in my downtime, creating with clay, and making acrylic paintings for my family and close friends! By joining Palette of Positivity, I look forward to cultivating my leadership and art skills through collaboration with my team and others in need to give back to the community.
Palette of Positivity
As a group of high school leaders, we hope to impact our local San Jose community and spread kindness and positivity. We embark on this goal by engaging with senior homes for hands-on art lessons ranging different mediums and styles. Our team of passionate students fundraise money, spread awareness, and take charge as proud members of Palette of Positivity.
Vice President
Jane Lokteff
I am Jane Lokteff, the vice president of Palette of Positivity. Art has been a passion of mine ever since I was young. I have always enjoyed being able to express different parts of myself through different forms of art. Now that I am older I want to help others use art as a way to find and express themselves. Through Palette of Positivity, I have the opportunity to use my passions to help others and share my love for art. Being a vice president lets me use my different skills to help make a difference in my community and others. I hope to continue being a changemaker for positivity in my community.
Treasurer
Sharanya Kandadi
My name is Sharanya Kandadi, and I am a treasurer of Palette of Positivity! Ever since I was little, I loved art, as I found it as a way to express myself in a way that words couldn’t. Whether it’s painting, arts and crafts, or just doodling in my notebooks, creating art and sharing it with others was something I always found to be extremely rewarding. I joined Palette of Positivity because it’s a way to spread joy, grow closer to our community, and utilize my skills for good.
Publicity
Prisha Srivastava
My name is Prisha Srivastava, the publicity of Palette of Positivity. Working with a variety of art mediums allows me to express my inner creativity and brings me joy. I want to spread my joy with others, and with the aid of our organization, I can help people connect with art and share their hidden talents. As publicity, my goal is to share and bring awareness about the Palette of Positivity, and to inspire the public to join and support our honest work. What we do is for the community, and I want to continue to use my dedicated time, skills, and love to build upon it.
Secretary
Cashmere Dimabuyu
To me, art is so many things, a way to convey emotions and stories, a universal language and so much more. Being the secretary for Palette of Positivity provides me the chance to spread positivity through doing what I love. In my free time I love to do ceramics and ink sketching. Through this organization I aim to develop my art and leadership skills. My ultimate goal as secretary is to spread more joy through helping our organization further expand.
"Palette of Positivity has truly changed my life. It has opened countless doors for me and taught me how I can make a small difference in the world." -Kara
